Puppy right start, puppy socialising, novice and advanced dog training classes/courses
As a first time owner of a German Shepherd Dog, I wanted to make sure that I knew what to do and how to do it. Dogs are a major, and life-long, investment and I wanted to be sure that I was doing things the right way. When Kenzi, now 11 months, was eight weeks old I took her to see Lynn for a Puppy Right Start session. I had decided to go to Lynn because I saw on her website that she has experience with German Shepherds. All the advice she gave me that day, especially about diet, has proven very helpful. Kenzi is thriving and has been through Puppy, Novice and Advanced classes and I hope to take her to a further Advanced class later in the year. The classes are all reward based and the dogs seem to enjoy the learning but I think what the owners learn is even more important. Lynn encouraged us and helped us to build up our relationship with our dogs. I would happily recommend Lynn to anyone seeking the best for their dog.

Novice dog training courses and private behaviour consultation
This is Alfie who came to us at 7 months having needed to be re-homed. He had spent his first few months with another dog and subsequently wanted to jump and play with anyone he saw. He also had the attention span of a flea. As owners, we unknowingly spoiled him with too much food and the wrong kind. He was wound up,nervous, hyper and attention -seeking. I took him along to Lynn's class and he only remained in class by the skin of his paws...he was really difficult some weeks. I often dreaded the embarrassment. Lynn was great and talked us through nutrition and the impact that had on behaviour. Also, turned out, he had a health issue that needed attention and antibiotics. What struck me most, that during this time, he still learned what he needed to know. And best of all, it was done in a positive way. Punishment not needed......despite people giving advice about a 'quick smack'. We had a home visit too and that was more for the owners to be more consistent, needless to say, he has the run of the place most of the time. He is sociable, lovely, lively, naughty and able to walk without causing chaos, although new places are still too much of a temptation to want to sniff and ignore the walking to heel. So, we continue to learn together. He is about to join the next advanced class and can't wait. All dogs ( and their owners) would benefit from proper training. Lynn, Margaret and Maggi are lovely and Alfie really misses his classes.

Behaviour therapy and social gathering - aggression towards other dogs
in her. Our walk the next day was unbelievable;
instead of avoiding dogs I changed direction to pass one!! Not a squeak from
Bria, amazing! We met another dog we don’t know and I was able to stand and
chat to the owner for ten minutes. It was a real breakthrough. I haven’t let
her off the lead with other dogs yet as it early days. We now walk in the
morning with my neighbour and her 3 dogs, and my dog trots along quietly, not
pulling on the lead. I will keep attending the social gathering and would
recommend anyone with any doggy issues to contact Lynn. Not only is
she highly experienced and competent but she is also qualified in her
field. She is never judgemental and always puts me at ease I think
she must use her positive reward system on people asI can’t
recommend Lynn highly enough, My wee dog Bria (border/ Lakeland cross) is a
live wire and highly excitable, but when her excitement turned to aggression I didn’t
know how to deal with it and my dog walks became stressful dog dodging events.
Bria would squeal and bark and cry when she even caught sight of another dog,
it was so loud I couldn’t approach or even speak to the other owners
from a distance. I had a one to one consultation
with Lynn so she could assess Bria and what her issues were. I worked with Bria
on Lynn’s advice for a couple of weeks, I immediately noticed that my dog had
calmed down a lot, I was still avoiding dogs on our walks. I then felt ready to
attend one of Lynn’s social gatherings (I call it the naughty dog class). I was
quite nervous about the noise she would make and how much she would
disturb the other owners and dogs. But amazingly with Lynn’s guidance she
settled down quickly and was quiet the whole class after an initial burst of a
few minutes noise. I couldn’t believe how well behaved she was with the other
dogs and how well the class went for us both. It gave me confidence too to see
the change well as on
the dogs. It may just be the best thing you ever do for your best friend.

Behaviour therapy - aggression towards other family dog

Just wanted to say a massive Thank You to Lynn and all her team for their advice and support in the past few months after I contacted them with major behavioural issues involving my 10 month old cairn terrier Hamish and my French bulldog Otis. After an in depth home visit, I discovered that my wee cairn was suffering from stress and this was having a detrimental effect on his behaviour, such as severally attacking Otis on several occasions. With the help and advice from Lynn, a behaviour modification programme was devised, utilising clicker training, positive reinforcement and most importantly lots and lots of patience. I have followed the programme for several weeks and the difference in my dogs behaviour is truly amazing. Both dogs are now happy and content in each other's company. It was hard work but I now feel that I have my wee dogs back and its the best Christmas present I could have asked for... I cannot praise Lynn highly enough and would recommend her services to anyone who has a problem with their pets. Prior to her visit I thought I was going to have to re-home my wee cairn... and the thought of that broke my heart...I'm so glad I stuck with it and now have a happy, bouncy doggi home!!!
Thank you Lynn

Behaviour therapy - aggression towards family members
Lynn came to s ee us as we were at the end of our tether with our dog Harvey. Harvey is nearly 3and was until fairly recently a very playful and friendly Lowchen. However his aggressive behaviour had become worse and what started off as a problem with food, began to affect every aspect of our daily routine with him. On top of that he was very subdued and appeared unhappy. Lynn helped us see that a few changes in the way we treated Harvey would help. We implemented all the suggestions and within a very short space of time Harvey became happier and much more co-operative. He is no longer aggressive over food or toys and he genuinely seems happy to greet us in the morning. We feel we have got our wee happy dog back. We are delighted with the difference Lynn has made and it all made perfect sense once explained. We will be starting the novice training course with Harvey very soon!! J. Behaviour therapy - walking problems
“AXL is now 1 years’ old, I have had him since 8 weeks old and I had no problems with toilet training, sitting, paw, roll over and going to bed when told, the one issue I had was walking him. After checking out numerous websites for behaviour classes I came across Lynn Allardyce. I am delighted with the results after just one session of a private behavioural consultation with Lynn & AXL, what a difference with him, I use her technique every walk for now and he walks happily for me, and is a lot more confident. I would have no hesitation recommending Lynn to anyone” Katie Cherry – Bellshill. February 2011
Behaviour t herapy - phobia of walking and the car
"Just a brief note to update you after your home visit to assist us with our 10 year old Border Collie Max. As you may recall Max was unwilling to leave our garden to take even the shortest walk and was very anxious and nervous when we tried. With your help and guidance he now looks forward to his daily (occasionally twice per day) walk which we route vary every day. Each walk lasts 45 minutes to an hour and is the highlight of his day. He is now walking with/behind us and doesn't 'tug' on his lead. Only difficulty he has is with large lorry/buses type traffic passing close to us and he gets a wee bit 'skitty' until they pass..... but we are working on that. Our next task is to get him to travel in the car but we see that this might take some time yet. Repetition seems to be the way forward with Max.
Thanks for your help and we will keep you informed of his progress. BTW we also enjoy the walks!"
Jan and Ronnie Bateman, Kilsyth, Glasgow, 6 November 2009 - Max has since sadly passed away, Jan and Ronnie acquired Benji the cocker spaniel to help ease their loss, he has since joined our puppy classes - June 2010
Behaviour therapy - aggression to people and family members
"Do not wait if you're having any problems with your dog, contact Lynn right away and get it sorted, it will be worth every penny. Barney is doing great, there have been no other incidents with myself or other people and he is not showing any signs of aggression to wards my daughters dogs now either. Additionally he is getting in and out of the car without any problems and will stay in the room he previously had issues with. He attend the vets recently without any problems. I'm glad we dealt with it right away as he has improved almost immediately. It was worth every penny, thanks again".

Behaviour Therapy and training classes - Dog dog aggression (barking and lunging) and cat chasing - Tara cross bred "Just wanted to give you a quick update on Tara's progress. Miracle of miracles I think we have just about won the war. She is coping so much better with other dogs on and off the lead. She now barely whimpers when we pass another dog in the street and her recall in the park when she sees other dogs is nearly 100%. Alison who would hardly ever take her out now walks her every day after school ( its got nothing at all to do with the fact she walks with her boyfriend Sam tho!) and she has no problems with her at all!
I know its your job to train and give advice but I cant thank you enough for all your help with Tara you have been a god send. You just have the knack when it comes to relating to the dogs and owners and are genuine as well and that is so apparent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you and the training classes to other people."

Behaviour Therapy - Dog dog aggression (chasing and barking) Bailey "I wanted to drop a note to thank you for all your help with Bailey (our two year old German Shepherd). Bailey had a real problem interacting with other dogs and would bark and lunge towards them. what a difference! Since working with you he is now much calmer and a pleasure to take out a walk. he has even started to make canine friends.
Thank you for helping us to understand our dog.
I cant recommend you highly enough."
SHARON TURNER, Motherwell April 2007
This was a particularly pleasing case as Bailey was already on his third home, what a wonderful dog he is, even I was impressed how quickly he improved. Lynn Allardyce.
Behaviour therapy and training classes - seperation related Fraoch "I saw Lynn for a behavioural consultation for my 9yr old Deerhound as he was howling when I was with clients. My GSD had died and he was missing her. After a very thorough consultation, Lynn concluded that he had separation anxiety and gave me several areas to work at to address the problem. The whole experience was very positive, and Lynn was very encouraging, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I later went to one of her classes, again a very positive experience; the training was all reward based, conducted in a fun environment that encouraged learning in a stress-free way. Since then I have a new GSD puppy whom I’ve taken to puppy class for socialisation, and is now in the junior class…..and we’re both loving it! I would recommend her without hesitation, whether you need one-to-one behavioural work or a training class."

Puppy 'right start' session and classes Ross Golden Retriever We consulted Lynn for a Puppy Right Start Consultation when our Golden Retriever ‘Ross’ was 12 weeks old as his playful biting was becoming too aggressive and causing us concern.
Lynn engaged with ourselves and Ross in a very thorough assessment and commenced the process of clicker training which Ross responded well to, along with giving us lots of helpful advice and areas to work on.
After a few weeks we saw a marked improvement in Ross’s behaviour.
He is now 11months old, has gone from strength to strength and has successfully completed Lynn’s Training Classes in Puppy, Junior, Advanced Level I, is currently doing Advanced Level II, and hoping to progress to Fun Agility.
We cannot stress enough how valuable Lynn’s help has been, Ross is now a contented, very sociable loveable dog/rogue who has learned so much.
Throughout our involvement, Lynn has been very professional, her classes have limited numbers and a relaxed atmosphere, which encourages owners and their dogs to have fun whilst learning along with making new friends both canine and human.
We would highly recommend Lynn’s Puppy Right Start and Training Classes to anyone and wish her continuing success for the future.

Training classes - Rocco Chocolate Labrador I dread to think what Rocco would be like if we had not attended the classes. I imagine he would be uncontrollable and not nearly as much fun especially as he is a large breed of dog.
The classes are informal and most importantly FUN FUN FUN for the dogs and owners. The positive learning technique really works at all times and for all circumstances, the hard part is getting your head round the dog’s psychology, thinking the way the dog does.
Do not hesitate to join these classes you will reap the benefits. He started off in the puppy class, moved onto junior, advanced level 1 and is currently doing advanced 2 in anticipation for the fun agility class.

Training classes - Nikkita German Shepherd Hi, my name is Nikkita and I'm a nine month old German Shepherd bitch. I have successfully completed my puppy, junior, advanced 1 and currently doing my advanced 2 obiidience training.
The HAPPY Dog Training Club (pet behaviour scotland) is a fantastic dog club, I've made lots of new friends there, Lynn our trainer is great, she teaches us new things every week, is great fun and very patient with us. The bond I have made with my owner has grown stronger through doing the training.
So if you want to be a HAPPY DOG come along and join us now.

Behaviour Therapy - Alfie and Buddy Golden Retrievers The one - to - one behavioural session we had with you was worth every penny. It very quickly made us (and the dogs) realise how small behavioural changes can make such a big difference and it has transformed the way that we interact with the dogs - everyone human and canine has benefited. Caroline (10 years old) now enjoys walking the dogs on the lead without all the pulling and other problems and they are responding well to recall when off the lead. There is still a long way to go but we are looking forward to attending classes later this month. Thank you again for all your help.
